- Clutch & flywheel diagnosis: Pedal feel test, slip test in 4th/5th gear, hydraulic system pressure check.
- Gearbox drop & inspection: Gearbox bell-housing detached, clutch friction plate, pressure plate, release bearing and dual-mass flywheel measured against wear limits.
- Decision: clutch kit only or DMF too: If the dual-mass flywheel rotational play exceeds 12–15° we replace it together with the clutch — a single-piece flywheel is never used as a substitute.

Should I always replace the dual mass flywheel along with the clutch?
Only if the DMF measurement is out of spec. We open the gearbox, measure rotational play; if it's within VW factory limits we leave it alone. If out of spec, replacement is essential — a worn DMF will destroy a new clutch in 20,000 km.
Why does my VW / Skoda clutch pedal go soft on hot days?
Almost always air in the hydraulic system or a leaking master/slave cylinder. We pressure-test, find the leak, replace the cylinder and bleed properly. ₹6,500–₹14,500 typical fix.
My gearbox grinds into 2nd — how serious is it?
Grinding into 2nd is worn synchro ring. The gearbox needs to come out and be opened. ₹22,000–₹38,000 typical, 4–5 working days. Catching it early prevents synchro hub damage.
