The Volkswagen Vento — VW's first volume-selling sedan in India — is still on Hyderabad roads in the thousands. Built on the PQ25 platform with 1.6 MPI, 1.2 TSI, 1.5 TDI and later 1.0 TSI engines, the Vento was offered with a 5-speed MQ200 manual, the iconic but troublesome DQ200 7-spd DSG and (on TDI) a 7-spd DQ200 wet variant. Mechatronics Notes
Vento DSG variants share mechatronic part numbers with the Polo TSI auto. Mechatronic rebuild with Bosch / Continental solenoid kit is the cost-effective option vs full OE replacement; DSG fluid is genuine VW G 052 529 A2 only.
Suspension & Brakes
Suspension architecture: MacPherson strut front, torsion beam rear
Vento rear shock bushings perish faster than the Polo because of the heavier rear-end. Front strut top-mount knock is identical to the Polo and uses the same parts.
Brakes: Front 280 mm vented disc, rear 232 mm solid disc on most Vento variants. Genuine TRW / ATE / Brembo pads only; we never fit non-OE pads on TSI variants because they cause warp at high temperatures.
