The Volkswagen Tiguan and the longer-wheelbase Tiguan AllSpace are VW Group's premium SUVs in India, both built on the MQB platform with the 2.0 TSI petrol engine, DQ500 7-spd wet-clutch DSG and Haldex 5 AWD (4MOTION). The Tiguan introduces complexity that lower-end models don't have — the wet DQ500 mechatronic, the Haldex AWD coupling with its own pump and screen filter, multilink rear suspension and (on certain variants) DCC Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive dampers. Mechatronics Notes
Tiguan uses the DQ500 7-spd wet-clutch DSG (12L genuine VW G 060 162 fluid). Mechatronic rebuild is typically more cost-effective than full unit replacement when the case + PCB are healthy. Always paired with Haldex inspection because Haldex problems often masquerade as DSG faults.

Multilink rear bushings wear by 90-110k km — classic loose-tail symptom. DCC dampers (where fitted) require ODIS coding when replaced.
Brakes: Front 320 mm vented disc, rear 310 mm disc on most Tiguan variants. Genuine TRW / ATE / Brembo pads only; brake fluid every 24 months because the wet brake performance matters on this 1.7-tonne SUV.

My Tiguan is showing both DSG and AWD warnings — is the gearbox finished?
Often not — Haldex faults frequently throw a DSG-related code. We always diagnose Haldex and DSG independently with ODIS before recommending any DQ500 work. Saves customers ₹2-3 lakh in unnecessary mechatronic replacements.
How critical is the Haldex fluid + filter screen change?
Critical — every 30,000 km on the Tiguan / AllSpace 4MOTION. Skipping it leads to Haldex pump failure (₹65,000 job) within 60-80k km.
Are DCC dampers worth maintaining or should I switch to standard?
Strongly recommend keeping DCC on cars originally equipped with it — the chassis ECU expects DCC and will throw permanent fault codes otherwise. Genuine OE DCC damper + ODIS coding is the only correct repair.
