DPF work at Metre Per Second in Hyderabad is ₹2,500–₹6,500 for a static forced regeneration when only soot is trapped, and ₹14,000–₹32,000 for off-car ultrasonic and thermal cleaning when ash has loaded the filter. We decide between the two using measured soot mass, ash mass and delta-P readings rather than guesswork, and we weigh the filter before and after to prove the ash is gone. You need it when the DPF light stays on, the car limps, oil level climbs on the dipstick, or regeneration keeps aborting on short Hyderabad commutes.
Metre Per Second — Premium Car Service and Repair is Hyderabad's dedicated diesel particulate filter workshop. A DPF traps exhaust soot and burns it off at 600°C+ during regeneration. Hyderabad's stop-start traffic, short city trips and fuel quality stop that cycle from completing — soot stacks up, ash builds, and you get the ▲ DPF light, P2002/P2463/P244A codes, limp mode and rising fuel use. We diagnose the actual fault on the manufacturer's own platforms (BMW ISTA, Mercedes XENTRY, VW/Audi ODIS, Ford IDS, Hyundai/Kia GDS) so you only pay for what your car truly needs.
There is a critical difference between soot and ash, and getting it wrong wastes your money. Soot is carbon that an on-car forced regeneration can burn off in 25–40 minutes. Ash is the inorganic residue from engine oil and additives that regeneration can NEVER remove — it only comes out with an off-car ultrasonic flush and a 600°C oven cure. We read soot mass, ash mass, delta-P and regen counters first, then choose forced regen, off-car cleaning or sensor work accordingly — and we weigh the filter before and after to prove the ash is gone.
Over 15 years and 25,075+ vehicles in Hyderabad, we have built our reputation on doing this the right way. We do NOT delete, drill or gut your DPF — that is illegal under Bharat Stage VI, fails RTO emissions, voids warranty and can wipe ₹1–3 lakh off a luxury diesel's resale. Every job ends with sensor calibration, regen-counter reset, a 25–30 km road test and a printed before/after pressure report. Free pickup and drop across KPHB, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hi-Tech City, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills, all backed by a 1-year warranty.

When soot is the only issue, we run the engine at ~2,000 RPM under controlled conditions, holding exhaust temperature at 600–650°C for 25–40 minutes to burn off accumulated soot, then reset the counters and road-test.
When ash is the problem, the DPF is removed, weighed, ultrasonic-flushed in a heated detergent bath, then 600°C oven-cured to vaporise residue, pressure-tested and weight-verified against OEM spec with a certificate.
We test and replace the delta-P sensor and its silicone pressure lines — a drifting sensor either skips regen (DPF clogs) or commands continuous regen (oil dilution and turbo damage).
Pre- and post-DPF exhaust-gas-temperature sensor replacement plus combined EGR and intake-manifold decarbonisation, so the freshly-cleaned filter isn't re-clogged by un-burned hydrocarbons.
When the ceramic monolith is cracked or melted from uncontrolled regen we fit genuine BMW/Mercedes/VW exchange units, and we service DENOXTRONIC AdBlue/SCR injectors on Euro-6 cars.
Many Hyderabad workshops drill out the ceramic monolith and call it 'cleaning' — illegal, fails RTO Bharat-Stage emissions and tanks resale. We restore the OEM filter to spec or quote a genuine OE replacement.
Pour-in additives only shift loose soot. Ash needs ultrasonic agitation plus a 600°C oven cure. We weigh the filter before and after to prove ash mass dropped to OEM spec.
ISTA, XENTRY, ODIS, IDS and GDS — the same tools the dealership uses — so soot/ash reads, sensor tests, adaptation and regen-counter resets are dealer-accurate.
You get a clear, itemised price after the scan and delta-P test. No work proceeds until you approve it — the invoice matches the quote.
Doorstep collection across KPHB, Kukatpally, Madhapur, Gachibowli, Hi-Tech City, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills.
Off-car cleaning and sensor work carry a 1-year warranty (subject to ACEA C3/C4 oil compliance), honoured with a free re-test on our KPHB bench rig.
Hyderabad's average diesel commute is 5–12 km at urban speeds. The DPF needs 30+ minutes above 60 km/h to hit regen temperature, so on daily short hops regeneration never completes and soot stacks up.
Modern diesels need low-SAPS oil (ACEA C3/C4). Generic 5W-40 burns into hard ceramic ash that can NEVER be regen'd out — only ultrasonic cleaning removes it.
A clogged EGR and sooty intake manifold feed un-burned hydrocarbons into the DPF, accelerating clogging — which is why a DPF clean without an EGR clean often returns in six months.
If the delta-P sensor reads wrong, the ECU either skips regen (DPF clogs) or commands continuous regen (oil dilution and turbo damage). The sensor must be tested before the DPF is condemned.
Exhaust-gas-temperature sensors govern when and how hot regen fires. A drifting EGT sensor stops the ECU from reaching the 600°C needed, so the filter never clears.
Switching the engine off mid-regen leaves fuel post-injection washing diesel into the oil, raising the dipstick level and risking bearing wear, turbo damage and hydraulic lock.
Once a week, drive 20–30 minutes above 60 km/h in a lower gear to let a passive regeneration complete and burn off accumulated soot.
Always use the maker-specified ACEA C3/C4 low-ash oil and stick to the service interval — generic oil bakes into ash that no regen can remove.
If the car is running an active regen (raised idle, hot smell, cooling fan running), let it finish rather than parking and killing the engine.
Service the EGR and intake whenever you clean the DPF so un-burned hydrocarbons don't immediately re-clog the filter.
An early forced regen is ₹2,500–6,500; ignoring it until limp mode and ash overload can mean a ₹14,000–32,000 off-car clean or worse.
A yearly soot/ash mass and delta-P scan catches sensor drift and ash build-up before they become an expensive job.

BMW X5 · B57 3.0 diesel
Problem: DPF light, limp mode and P2002 with high ash mass on ISTA. A dealership had quoted a full OE DPF replacement, and another garage offered an illegal DPF delete.
Work done: We removed and weighed the filter, ran an ultrasonic flush in a heated detergent bath, then a 600°C oven cure, pressure-tested it and verified weight back to OEM spec. Delta-P sensor and lines renewed, adaptation and regen counters reset.
Outcome: Power and economy restored at a fraction of the replacement quote, with a printed before/after pressure report and a 1-year warranty. (₹26,000)
Mercedes-Benz E-Class · OM654 diesel
Problem: Owner noticed fuel use up ~20% and the oil level climbing on the dipstick. XENTRY showed repeated failed regeneration cycles diluting the oil with diesel.
Work done: Off-car ultrasonic + thermal DPF clean, differential-pressure sensor replacement, EGR and intake decarbonisation, then an immediate oil and filter change after the cleaning.
Outcome: Regen now completes normally, oil dilution stopped and fuel consumption returned to spec — confirmed over a 30 km road test. (₹38,000)
Skoda Octavia · 2.0 TDI
Problem: Frequent ▲ DPF warnings from a daily 8 km city commute. Soot mass high but ash still within spec on ODIS.
Work done: Static forced regeneration at 600–650°C for 35 minutes, EGT sensor replaced after it was found drifting, counters reset and a regen-completion road test.
Outcome: Warning cleared and a weekly highway-run plan advised to keep the filter self-regenerating — far cheaper than an off-car clean. (₹8,500)
★★★★★ Sandeep Reddy, Gachibowli — BMW X5 (B57 diesel)
DPF light, limp mode and P2002 on my X5. They scanned on ISTA, found ash overload, did an off-car ultrasonic clean and showed me the before/after weight. No DPF delete, no drama — proper dealer-level work at half the cost.
★★★★★ Imran Pasha, Banjara Hills — Mercedes-Benz E-Class (OM654)
Fuel consumption had jumped and the oil level was rising. XENTRY showed failed regens. They cleaned the DPF off-car, replaced the delta-P sensor and changed the oil. Running perfectly and they explained every step.
★★★★★ Vikram Rao, Kondapur — Audi Q5 (EA288 TDI)
Another garage wanted to gut the DPF. MPS refused to do that, did an ultrasonic clean plus EGR decarbon, and gave me a printed pressure report. Power is back and the warning light is gone.
★★★★★ Naveen Kumar, KPHB — Skoda Octavia 2.0 TDI
Constant DPF warnings from short city trips. They did a forced regen, found the EGT sensor drifting and replaced it, then reset all the counters. Honest pricing and free pickup from KPHB.
★★★★★ Praveen Sharma, Kukatpally — Volkswagen Tiguan TDI
Limp mode after a traffic-heavy week. ODIS scan, off-car clean and intake decarbon. They weighed the filter before and after to prove the ash was gone. Genuinely transparent workshop.
★★★★★ Rohit Verma, Madhapur — Toyota Fortuner (1GD diesel)
P244A and rising fuel use on my Fortuner. Forced regen first, then a delta-P sensor swap and ECU re-learn. Road-tested 30 km before handover and gave me a 1-year warranty. Very impressed.

Static forced regen (when soot is the only issue) is ₹2,500–6,500. Off-car ultrasonic + thermal cleaning is ₹14,000–32,000 depending on filter size and brand. A combined DPF+EGR job is ₹22,000–48,000, and differential-pressure sensor swaps are ₹3,500–9,500. OE replacement DPFs (only when the ceramic is cracked or melted) range ₹32,000–2,80,000. You always get a fixed quote after a scan and delta-P test.
No. DPF deletion is illegal under Bharat Stage VI norms, fails RTO emissions checks, voids warranty and can drop resale value by ₹1–3 lakh on a luxury diesel. Workshops push it because they lack ultrasonic cleaning equipment. We don't delete — a properly cleaned and regen'd DPF performs identically to a new one.
Forced regen burns off SOOT (carbon between regen cycles) — it's an on-car procedure with the OEM scan tool, takes 25–40 minutes and costs ₹2,500–6,500. Off-car cleaning removes ASH (inorganic residue from oil and additives) that regen CANNOT burn — the DPF is removed, ultrasonic-flushed and 600°C oven-baked. We weigh the filter before and after to prove the ash is gone.
Three local reasons: (1) the average diesel commute is 5–12 km at urban speeds, so the DPF never reaches the 600°C needed for self-regen; (2) generic oil that isn't low-SAPS ACEA C3/C4 burns into hard ash that never regens out; and (3) a sooted EGR and intake feed un-burned hydrocarbons into the DPF. Fix all three and a cleaned DPF lasts 60,000+ km.
Almost certainly. When regen fails repeatedly, the ECU's post-injection of diesel washes past the rings into the engine oil. Oil dilution is dangerous — viscosity drops, bearings wear and there's a hydraulic-lock risk if it goes above the upper mark. We fix the DPF, then change the oil immediately.
We strongly recommend it. A sooted EGR and intake feed un-burned hydrocarbons straight into the freshly-cleaned DPF and you'll be back in 4–6 months. Combined DPF + EGR + intake decarbonisation is ₹22,000–48,000 versus ₹14,000–32,000 for the DPF alone, and the cleaned filter then lasts far longer.
Yes. After cleaning we reset soot mass, ash mass, regen counters, distance-since-last-regen and DPF adaptation values on the OEM tool, then do a 25–30 km road test to verify a successful regen. Off-car cleaning and sensors carry a 1-year warranty (subject to ACEA C3/C4 oil compliance), with a free re-test on our KPHB bench rig.
Diagnostic scan + delta-P test takes about an hour, a static forced regen 1–2 hours, an off-car ultrasonic + thermal clean one working day (two if the EGR/intake also come off), and a sensor-only swap half a day. We share photos and live-data screenshots throughout, with free pickup and drop across Hyderabad.
