DSG / DCT Valve Body (Mechatronic Unit)
Brands: Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Hyundai, Kia, Ford. Units: DQ200, DQ250, DQ381, PowerShift.
Common issues
- Shuddering at low speed
- Hesitation on gear change
- Limp mode P17BF / P0730
- Gear stuck / won't engage
The valve body is the hydraulic heart of every automatic transmission. When solenoids fail, bores wear, or oil circuits clog, the gearbox shifts badly, slips, or goes into limp mode. Metre Per Second repairs all valve body types — DSG mechatronics (DQ200/DQ250), ZF 8HP, CVT pulley control, torque converter AT valve bodies, and AMT hydraulic units — with hydraulic pressure testing and OEM diagnostic tools.

The valve body is the hydraulic control centre of an automatic transmission. It uses oil pressure, solenoid valves, and spool valves to direct hydraulic fluid to the correct clutch packs, bands, and torque converter — controlling gear changes. In DSG/DCT transmissions, it's integrated into the mechatronic unit. In traditional automatics, it's a separate assembly bolted to the transmission.
Common symptoms: harsh or delayed gear changes, slipping between gears, stuck in a specific gear (limp mode), shuddering during gear engagement, transmission warning light, fault codes P0750-P0770 (solenoid faults), or P0730 (incorrect gear ratio). A proper diagnosis requires hydraulic pressure testing and a scan tool.
Most valve body issues can be repaired — solenoids are individually replaceable, worn bores can be honed, and rebuild kits replace all seals, check balls, and springs. Full replacement is only necessary when the main body casting is cracked or severely corroded. Our approach is always to repair first — it's 50-70% cheaper than full replacement.
Valve body repair cost depends on the transmission type. AMT/DSG solenoid replacement: ₹8,000–₹22,000. Full DSG mechatronics repair: ₹18,000–₹40,000. ZF 8HP valve body repair: ₹25,000–₹55,000. CVT pulley control unit: ₹15,000–₹35,000. Traditional AT valve body: ₹12,000–₹30,000. We provide a written quote after diagnosis.
Solenoid replacement: 4–6 hours. Full valve body rebuild: 1–2 days. DSG mechatronics repair: 1 day. ZF valve body: 1–2 days. We offer free pickup and courtesy car while your vehicle is with us.
