Transmission Mechatronics Repair — All Types, Hyderabad Specialists
Mechatronics is where electronics meet hydraulics in your gearbox. When the mechatronic unit fails, the transmission can't shift correctly. Metre Per Second repairs all transmission mechatronics types — VW/Skoda/Audi DSG (DQ200/DQ250), BMW/Land Rover ZF 8HP, Honda/Toyota/Maruti CVT, AMT actuators, and all valve body types — with ODIS / ISTA / VCDS diagnostics and 1 Year Warranty. OEM diagnostics · 4.8★ rated · Free pickup Hyderabad-wide.
What Does a Mechatronic Unit Contain?
TCU / TCM
Transmission Control Unit — the software brain that decides when and how to shift
Hydraulic Valve Body
Routes pressurised ATF/DSG fluid to specific clutch packs and gear actuators
Solenoids (7–12 units)
Electro-hydraulic valves that open/close oil circuits to engage gears
Pressure Sensors
Monitor line pressure, clutch pressure, and gear circuit pressure in real-time
Temperature Sensor
Monitors fluid temperature — overheating triggers limp mode
Speed Sensors
Input/output shaft speed for calculating gear ratio and shift timing
Mechatronics Repair — All Types
DQ200 (7-speed) · DQ250 (6-speed) · DQ381 — Volkswagen · Skoda · Audi. From ₹18,000–₹75,000.
The most complex mechatronics system — integrates TCU, valve body, solenoids, pressure sensors, and speed sensors. Covers DQ200 dry clutch (Polo, Vento, Rapid, Taigun) and DQ250 wet clutch (Passat, Octavia, Kodiaq, Tiguan).
ZF 8HP · ZF 9HP · ZF 6HP — BMW · Mercedes-Benz · Land Rover · Porsche · Audi. From ₹30,000–₹80,000.
ZF's mechatronic unit integrates the valve body, solenoid pack, and transmission control module (TCM). Used in BMW 3/5/7 Series, Land Rover Defender/Discovery, Porsche Cayenne, and Audi Q7.
Jatco JF015E / JF016E · Honda HVT · Aisin CVT — Honda · Maruti · Toyota · Nissan · Renault · Kia. From ₹12,000–₹40,000.
CVT transmissions use electro-hydraulic control units to vary the pulley ratio. Belt slip, judder, and overheating are common when the CVT valve body or stepper motor fails.
Magneti Marelli · Bosch · Continental — Maruti (AGS) · Tata (iAMT) · Renault (Easy-R) · Hyundai AMT. From ₹8,000–₹25,000.
AMT transmissions use a separate gear actuator and clutch actuator. Both are electro-hydraulic units controlled by the TCU. Jerky shifts and clutch judder are the main failure symptoms.
Aisin 6AT/8AT · Ford 6R80 · Hyundai 6AT — Toyota · Mahindra · Ford · Hyundai · Kia · Renault. From ₹12,000–₹35,000.
Traditional torque converter automatics use a solenoid valve body to control shift timing and pressure. Harsh shifts, slip, and limp mode are caused by solenoid failure or valve body wear.
Hydraulic Control Unit · Solenoid Pack · Spool Valves — All automatic transmission types. From ₹10,000–₹55,000.
The valve body is the hydraulic control heart of every automatic gearbox. We repair valve bodies for all transmission types — solenoid replacement, bore honing, rebuild kits, and full replacement.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between mechatronics and valve body?
In DSG (VW/Audi/Skoda), the mechatronic unit is a single assembly that combines the TCU (computer), valve body (hydraulics), solenoids, and all sensors. In traditional automatics (Toyota, BMW ZF, etc.), the valve body is a separate hydraulic unit, and the TCU (or TCM) is a separate electronic module. In AMT systems, mechatronics refers to the separate gear actuator and clutch actuator units.
How do I know if my mechatronics has failed?
Key signs: transmission warning light, fault codes in the P07xx or P17xx range, harsh or delayed gear changes, shuddering at low speed, stuck in a single gear (limp mode), or complete loss of drive. A proper diagnosis requires an OEM-compatible scan tool to read stored fault codes and live data.
Which car brands have the most mechatronics issues?
VW Group DSG DQ200 (dry clutch) has the most reported mechatronics issues in India — particularly in city driving conditions. Indian AMT systems (Maruti AGS, Tata iAMT) have high actuator failure rates due to stop-and-go traffic. BMW ZF mechatronics issues are less common but more expensive to repair.
Can mechatronics be repaired or does it need full replacement?
In most cases, mechatronics can be partially repaired — individual solenoids, seals, and sensors can be replaced. Full replacement is needed when the TCU board is fried or the hydraulic body is cracked. Repair is 50–70% cheaper than full replacement. We always attempt repair first.
