ADAS Calibration in Hyderabad — After Windscreen, Suspension or Accident Repair
Static + dynamic camera & radar calibration · BMW · Mercedes · Audi · Volvo · Range Rover · MG · XUV · Hector · Tucson
Metre Per Second operates one of the few full ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration bays in Hyderabad. ADAS systems — Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, 360° Surround View, Traffic Sign Recognition — depend on cameras and radar sensors aimed within fractions of a degree of OEM specification. Any of the following events legally require a recalibration before the vehicle is safe to drive: windscreen replacement (forward-facing camera moves), suspension or alignment work (changes the ride height and therefore the camera aim), bumper repair or replacement (radar position changes), accident repair, ADAS-related fault codes, or even a ride-height change from new tyres. We perform both static calibration (using OEM calibration boards / targets in our levelled bay with controlled lighting) and dynamic calibration (a road-drive at specified speeds with the factory scan tool live-monitoring the system). We have the manufacturer scan tools and OEM target boards / pattern boards for ODIS (VW Group), ISTA (BMW), Star Diagnosis with XENTRY (Mercedes), Pathfinder (Land Rover), VIDA (Volvo), TechStream (Toyota / Lexus), wiTECH (Jeep), and Autel MaxiSys ADAS for multi-brand coverage. Without proper calibration, an "AEB" system can apply the brakes for no reason, an "Adaptive Cruise" can slam shut on an empty road, and "Lane Keep" can pull you into oncoming traffic — this is not a job for a workshop without the proper boards and a level floor. Most calibrations are completed in 2-4 hours.
Common ADAS Calibration Problems We Fix
After Windscreen Replacement
Forward-facing camera mounted on the windscreen requires recalibration after every windscreen change
Symptoms:
- Windscreen has just been replaced
- "Camera blocked" or "Driver assist not available" warning
- Lane Keep / TSR not working
- AEB warning light on
Solution: Static calibration with OEM target board on level bay, followed by dynamic calibration road-test with factory scan tool
After Suspension or Alignment Work
Change in ride height alters camera aim angle and radar elevation
Symptoms:
- Suspension parts replaced (struts, springs, control arms)
- Wheel alignment done
- "ADAS calibration required" message
- Adaptive cruise behaving erratically
Solution: Re-aim front radar and forward camera to OEM specification, recalibrate using static targets + dynamic drive
After Bumper or Body Repair
Front / rear bumper repair, replacement or paint repaint affects radar and parking sensors
Symptoms:
- "Park assist not available" or "Blind spot off"
- Visible bumper damage or recent repair
- Surround-view 360° image stitch is offset
Solution: Front + rear radar calibration, blind spot radar aim check, 360° camera calibration with floor pattern
After Accident or Airbag Deployment
Any front-end impact requires full ADAS recalibration even if cameras "look OK"
Symptoms:
- Front-end accident repair just completed
- Multiple ADAS warnings on dashboard
- AEB or LKA fault codes stored
Solution: Full ADAS health check, sensor replacement where deformed, complete static + dynamic calibration of every camera and radar
Our Diagnostic & Repair Process
- Pre-Scan & DTC Capture: Full vehicle pre-scan with factory tool to capture every stored ADAS fault code and module status
- Vehicle Prep: Tyres inflated to placard, fuel tank near full, no extra weight, level floor, vehicle cleaned and TPMS reset where needed
- Static Calibration: OEM calibration target boards / pattern mats positioned at exact distance and height per service manual; calibration routine run via ODIS / ISTA / Star / VIDA / Pathfinder
- Dynamic Calibration Road Test: Road drive at 60-90 km/h on a clearly marked road with the scan tool live-monitoring camera and radar learn-in completion
- Post-Scan & Documentation: Full post-scan to confirm no DTCs remain, written ADAS calibration certificate issued, photos of target setup retained on file

Frequently Asked Questions — ADAS Calibration in Hyderabad
Do I really need ADAS calibration after a windscreen change?
Yes — every car manufacturer (BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Land Rover, Mahindra, MG, Hyundai, Toyota etc.) mandates ADAS recalibration after a windscreen replacement on any vehicle with a forward-facing camera mounted on the windscreen. Driving without it is unsafe and may invalidate insurance in case of an ADAS-related accident.
What is the difference between static and dynamic calibration?
Static calibration is done indoors with a target board placed at a precise distance and height in front of the car. Dynamic calibration is a road-drive at specified speeds where the camera/radar learns the world by itself with the scan tool monitoring. Most modern cars need BOTH — for example, BMW & Mercedes typically require static + a dynamic drive cycle to complete.
How long does ADAS calibration take?
A single-system static calibration takes 2-3 hours including setup. A combined static + dynamic after a windscreen change usually takes 3-5 hours including the road test. Multi-system calibration after accident repair can take a full day.
Can ADAS calibration be done at home or by a mobile workshop?
No. Static calibration requires a verified-level floor, controlled lighting, exact distance from the target board to the centre of the windscreen, and a vehicle in factory ride-height condition. Mobile or roadside calibration cannot meet these tolerances and the result is unsafe.
Customer Reviews — ADAS Calibration in Hyderabad (After Windscreen / Suspension Work)
Got the windscreen replaced through insurance — the glass shop didn't do ADAS calibration. AEB was triggering randomly on empty roads. Metre Per Second did the static + dynamic calibration with proper BMW ISTA in 4 hours and gave me a certificate. AEB and LKA are perfect now.
After alignment + new tyres, my Pilot Assist was off by half a lane. MPS recalibrated the forward camera and front radar with VIDA, did the dynamic drive on ORR. Pilot Assist is now spot-on. Only place in Hyderabad with proper Volvo ADAS coverage.
Front bumper repaint and a small front-end accident — DISTRONIC stopped working. Mercedes dealer wanted ₹38,000 just for the calibration. MPS did the full static + dynamic for ₹16,500 with XENTRY and printed the pre/post scan certificate. Genuine professionals.
After windscreen replacement, the lane-keep was pulling the car right. MPS recalibrated the camera with the proper target board and Autel ADAS tool. Lane-keep, AEB, ACC all working perfectly. Most workshops in Hyderabad simply don't have this capability.
